SPORTDiscus offers comprehensive, bibliographic coverage of sport, fitness and related disciplines. This database contains over 650,000 records with journal and monograph coverage going back to 1800. The content also consists of multi-disciplinary, international references from journal and magazine articles, books, book chapters, conference proceedings and more. SPORTDiscus is provided by the Sport Information Resource Centre.

 

ERIC on Ebsco via NCLive -- Full-text

Article database for education journals, including physical education and health education. Current ERIC documents (lesson plans, pamphlets, etc.) are full-text. Linked full-text is included for some article content.

A comprehensive source of full text journal articles for nursing & allied health journals. Provides full text for more than 600,000 articles in over 550 journals, dating back to 1982. 

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition on Ebsco via NCLive
Provides citations, abstracts, and some full text for mostly scholarly nursing and medical journals.

MEDLINE at PubMed  
Article abstracts and some linked full text to scholarly medical titles. Use PubMed Central for all full-text.

Includes 1800 business titles and provides coverage of over 60,000 companies.

The coverage is almost all full-text in this trade and industry database with its focus on marketing and competitive information.

 

 

Business Source Premier on Ebsco via NCLive -- Full-text.

Covers over 8,000 journals, magazines, and newspapers in all areas of business. Also provides country economic reports, company profiles and analyses, and industry reports.

 

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe

Lexis-Nexis provides access to full-text legal cases from all state and federal courts. Also search by topic in law reviews and law-related news sources. Lexis-Nexis has business information, international news, and poll data as well. Use the categories at the left to choose the area you want to explore.

Virtual Reference Library from Gale
A collection of 25 reference books and encyclopedias in electronic format. The sources cover a wide range of subjects, with titles such as World of Sports Science, Encyclopedia of Recreation and Leisure in America, and Encyclopedia of Education and Human Development. Titles can be searched together or individually.

Oxford Dictionary of Sport Science and Medicine

Oxford Companion to the Body

NCAA Recruiting Guides and Rules
Includes a majority of the NCAA publications such as the coaches' and recruiting handbooks, rules for all divisions (I, II, III), convention and annual reports.

 

General Databases

MasterFile Premier on Ebsco via NCLive -- Full-text.
Multi-subject database for articles, reference books, biographies and images. Includes full-text for 20 unique sport-related titles.

Onefile on InfoTrac -- Full-text.
Large multi-subject database that includes several education titles. Great for popular/news sources and general topics. Try the "Subject Guide Search" to narrow a topic.

Research Library on ProQuest -- Full-text.
A multi-subject database with some coverage of sport-related titles. Works well for fitness and athletics topics.

NetLibrary via NCLive -- Full-text.
Search and use electronic books at this site -- over 50,000 titles with many on sports-related topics.
