The Reference Department provides library instruction in numerous forms to HPU faculty, staff, and students. According to our mission statement, the HPU Libraries:

Library Instruction Sessions

Faculty can request a library instruction and research session for their classes. These sessions are designed around a particular assignment and/or class and can cover a wide range of resources and skills at every level, including:

Individual Research Consultations

Students and faculty who are working on in-depth research projects, including graduate students and Senior Seminar students, are invited to make an appointment with a reference librarian to get assistance with their research. Contact Kathy Shields or your library liaison to make an appointment.

Workshops for Faculty, Staff, and Students

Library workshops are offered throughout the semester on a variety of topics. This semester's schedule is available here.

In addition to the scheduled workshops, you may request a workshop on any of the topics that we offer at any point throughout the semester as a one-on-one consultation, presentation for your department, or workshop for a small group. For more information, see our Workshops page.
