Discover Smith Library

Smith Library opened in 1984, replacing nearby Wrenn Library with a new four-story, 50,000-square-foot facility. Forming a human chain, students at then High Point College moved the books from the old facility to the new one in just a day. With a 24/7 schedule during the regular semester, Smith Library houses 140,000 books, 5,000 movies, three computer labs, a media resources department, an archive and rare book collection. The library has been renovated several times in the last 5 years and now houses Academic Development on the fourth floor of the building.
